The audio portion of this slide show is a computer-generated recording of Prelude
& Fugue in b minor Op. 26 from Five Preludes & Fugues for Organ Op. 24-28 by Steven Monrotus.
Composed in 2017, this work is a 6-part Prelude based on the methods that Louis Vierne employed to improvise on a single free theme paired with a related 4-voice Fugue having
two countersubjects treated in triple counterpoint.
The mp3 audio clip leaves much to be
desired in a pipe organ recording but provides an idea of what this music would sound like on the real McCoy.
