Kimball Organ Specifications

A paper detailing the disposition of the 1924 Kimball organ of the Saint Louis Scottish Rite Cathedral, its voices, couplers, pipe ranks, tune percussions, traps, effects, and mechanical controls.

This iIlustration shows the old 5-story W.W. Kimball piano and organ plant at its largest size. Located at the corner of 26th Street and Rockwell Street in Chicago, now the Lyon and Healy factory, this vast building was in the heart of Chicago's great manufacturing district. It covered 17 acres and provided more than 850,000 square feet of working space. This image which shows trains that run directly into the factory is found at the back of many Kimball contracts for their pipe organs.
